Research activities

The main focus of my research involves understanding the mechanisms of stroke recovery and facilitating stroke rehabilitation through the use of technology. In particular, we are developing robotic assessment tools to accurately quantify sensorimotor dysfunction following stroke. We are currently focused on determining the importance of proprioception and vision in functional recovery. Additionally, we are developing novel robotic therapies for individuals with storke.

Currently, I am the Research Director for the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation's resident training program and through this I instruct our residents about research methodology, scientific writing, study design and presentation.
