Message from the Director: June 2019

Dear Colleagues,

Unbelievably, the year has flown by and we are now at the end of June with our final e-bulletin before the summer break.

Before we break, I’d like to welcome three new members to the HBI:

Welcome aboard and we look forward to working with you!

I cannot say enough about how much I have enjoyed my first year at the helm of the HBI. It’s been truly great meeting all of you, celebrating our collective achievements together, welcoming new members, watching our trainees flourish, launching important new initiatives and engaging more and more community members through our ever-growing community outreach programs. I am very proud to be part of this exceptional institute, and I thank all of you for your support.

I also want to express my heartfelt thanks on behalf of the HBI to those of you who have who have gone above and beyond this year by participating in HBI committee work. Thank you to the members of our Strategic Advisory Board, Executive Committee, Strategic Research and Innovation Committee (SRIC), Education Committee, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Your commitment and willingness to be actively engaged are helping the HBI achieve our goal as an international centre of excellence in neuroscience and mental health research and education.
