Postdoctoral Recruitment Program

A mandate of the Hotchkiss Brain Institute is to increase postdoctoral training, thus enriching the research environment through the presence of highly talented young scientists.  Funding under this program is intended to benefit full members of the HBI in recruiting postdoctoral candidates.

Eligibility: Criteria for funding will include evidence of a graduate degree or North American-recognized advanced professional degree.  Normally, candidates beyond their 4th postgraduate year at the time of application will not be considered for this program.  HBI members applying for funds under this program should have an active, funded research program that will provide a superior training environment for a fellow.

Use of funds: The purpose of this program is to help defray costs associated with recruitment visits of prospective postdoctoral fellows.  Travel costs in accordance with U of C travel regulations will be reimbursed up to a maximum of $700.

Requests for funds should be emailed to hbi.education@ucalgary.ca.  Requests must include a copy of the candidate's CV.

Applications will be funded on a first-come first-serve basis until funds allocated under this program are exhausted in a given year. In the event of application pressure in excess of program funding, candidates will be ranked on the basis of information supplied with the application.
