Provides targeted funding for equipment and innovative research projects. Applications will be under each award. 


Pilot Research Fund Program (PFUN-HBI DCNS/Mathison)

Due December 20th, 2023. ($20,000) To fund early-phase studies in promising new directions of clinical brain or mental health research, with the potential to develop into a new area of investigation with sustainable funding from other sources.

Robertson Fund for Cerebral Palsy Research

Due December 20th, 2023. ($30,000) The purpose of this fund is to support research activities at the University of Calgary related to the study of Cerebral Palsy.

HBI Small Equipment Repair, Replacement, or Purchase Initiative

June 1 and December 1. ($10,000) To support the ongoing research success of its members, the HBI has funding available for small equipment repair, replacement or purchase.

Accelerating Research in Concussion (ARC) Award

Closed August 15th, 2023 ($100,000) To provide support for novel and innovation research in the area of concussion and brain trauma.

SRIC Booster Grant

Rolling (Up to $100,000) To support Institute laboratories and help keep them healthy. HBI members can apply for funding available to help their labs in securing a major grant application.

Due December 20th, 2023 (Up to $50,000) To provide support for new ideas and innovations in the area of Open Science.

Due January 15th, 2024. (Up to $50,000) To fund limited support for new international research collaborations between HBI members and their international colleagues

HBI iPath - Discovery Pilot Research Fund

Due December 20th, 2023. (up to $50,000). To fund early-phase studies in promising new directors of mechanisms associated with substance use disorder research (SUD), with the potential to develop into a new area of investigation with sustainable funding from other sources.

Campus Alberta Neuroscience


CAN

Campus Alberta Neuroscience (CAN) was developed to increase the connectedness, scope, scale, success and impact of neuroscience and mental health research, education and translation in Alberta. CAN’s best avenues for impact are through bringing people together to develop and enhance collaborations.
